Happy holidays

Let meet us again in 2019 for our exhibition ’Sole sisters’ four women in the geometric abstract art
Jean Gorin Today
Looking at Jean Gorin again. Twenty years after the exhibition in this same Lahumière gallery. I had myself devoted a master’s thesis in art history to his work, under the supervision of Jacques Thuillier, followed by a book published in 1985 by Waser Verlag in Zurich. Gorin was unknown, and neoplasticism had been forgotten in France at that time. And has remained so, more or less.

Bauduin - Stempfel
Troublement
Brought together for a show titled Troublement (Unsettlement), Stempfel and Bauduin bring some offbeat humor to the walls of the Galerie Lahumière. While their works display fairly distinct aesthetics, they share a taste for irony and excess, and are inspired the same critical stance toward geometry.
Art Cologne
Hall 11.1 Booth A2
We are looking forward to seeing you again this year on our stand at the Cologne art fair. We will be featuring three of the gallery’s prime artists, Jean Dewasne (1910–1981), Auguste Herbin (1891-1961), and Victor Vasarely (1909–1980). During their lifetimes, Dewasne and Vasarely worked directly with Anne and Jean-Claude Lahumière, whose collection boasts a fine range of their art.

Hans Jörg Glattfelder let us come beautiful collages on paper specially realized for the event. André Stempfel, will be present with works slipping from the wall or discovering their blue spots underwear.

A new look at Henri Prosi
Prolongation until march 10th
Bringing a fresh eye to Henri Prosi’s studio, we have decided to show his works from the 1970s and ‘80s. There is a striking liveliness to his explorations of broken lines, of cut-out and collaged canvases that are sometimes stretched, sometimes not. And yet structure is also there—the cut-outs are clean and, once collaged onto the canvas, organize the cluster of lines. This set of works vibrates, drawing and awakening the eye, which is then tempted to dwell longer in order to grasp what is dancing in front of it. Prosi was an energetic, vibrant character, always in movement.
