Henri Prosi

About the artist

Henri Prosi works on frameworks, with the three primaries plus black and white. He tends to display a baroque approach, using movement, imbalance, asymmetry, and fragmentation to convey a centrifugal force. His rigorous construction is masked by the instability of the infinitely small or infinitely big, the kind of fluctuation that occurs when times come to a halt. Playing with space or with relief, Prosi introduces a dimension that contradicts the arrangement and orchestration of the foreground, a little like syncopation in jazz or certain modulations in contemporary music.
